For most of us, picking the right career can definitely be tricky. We might spend a lifetime trying to figure out what we truly love to do and what we are really good at doing. However, for a fortunate few, the right profession seems to cherry pick the individual,
as if that person was predestined for a certain role or job. Restauranteur Steve Pucheu is one of those lucky people. Having started in the restaurant business at the age of 21, Pucheu has spent a lifetime dedicated to cooking and serving South Mississippi patrons with wonderfully rich and delicious meals with a consistent and unfailing flare.
Pucheu began his foray into the restaurant world in the mid-’80s, working as the kitchen manager at Chappy’s in Long Beach. Pucheu
knew right away that he had a love for cooking. He was an avid fisherman, and his love of fresh Gulf seafood was and is still apparent in all of his dishes. After co-owning Trapani’s in Bay St. Louis for several years, Pucheu decided it was time to venture out on his own and in 2000 Steve’s Marina in Long Beach was born.
Steven’s Marina has a 20-plus-year tradition of serving fresh seafood and incredibly flavorful meals. Everything is prepared in-house, starting with the freshest ingredients Pucheu can find. He prides himself on a commitment to keeping things inventive. He enjoys playing around in the kitchen until
