At Coastal Hearing Center, Karen Slater has served some hearing impaired families for more than 30 years.
She grew up in Gulfport and has worked at the same practice since 1991. “Hearing is a sense that most people take for granted,” she says. “When it is lost, it can severely affect communication with others. I enjoy helping people regain the ability to fully engage with their loved ones.”

Kari Jo Butirich has always loved to throw a good party. “It’s all about the details,” she says. “Personalized touches make everything better! So I took the leap to start making personalized gifts.
Sentimental gifts are her favorite, and the part of her job she finds most rewarding. “There’s nothing like people’s smiles when I really nail it!”
Her greatest successes have been raising two beautiful children while earning a degree in social work, being an advocate for charitable causes within
the community, and becoming successful in the medical sales field all while starting my her own thriving business.

Dr. Angela Pressley-Wallace is a Board-Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist who practices at Digestive Health Center in Ocean Springs and Pascagoula Mississippi (Coming soon to Biloxi). She obtained her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine New Orleans, completed her residency at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, and her Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
She became a Pediatric Gastroenterologist out of a love for treating kids and a passion for gastroenterological diseases. Her goal as a physician is not only to cure but assist in the healing of their overall wellbeing. She specializes in eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders and inflammatory bowel disease.
Her biggest success has been empowering underserved areas through mentorship, education and community involvement. In 2004, she developed a college preparatory mentorship program at her church.
She has presented health topics at various Mississippi community events as well as WLOX. She has also been awarded Power Up Summit Healthcare Person of the Year, named Gulf Coast Woman’s Coast Top Doctor Gastroenterologist and featured in Gulf Coast Mom.
She enjoys eating seafood, exercising and going fishing with her four kids and supportive husband.
