Linda Stovall is the Director of Quality and Risk Management for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Gulfport. Originally from New Orleans, she found her way to the Coast in 1993 and has loved every moment since.
When Stovall was young, her father was diagnosed with cancer. She considers this to be the moment that had the biggest impact on her career. “He passed away when I was 16,” she says. “I watched his journey, and the impact it had on our family, I knew I wanted to do something in my future to work with individuals and help them and their families cope with the changes that may come with health challenges.”
She has a degree in occupational therapy and became an occupational therapist because she loves working with people. Stovall wanted to help people overcome barriers to independence in their daily lives. For more than 30 years she has worked
with adults in the acute hospital or medical rehabilitation settings.
“In my role, I have the honor to work with
a great team to ensure that we provide the highest quality rehabilitation program to the patients we serve,” she explains. “I help our team develop programs to meet our patients’ needs and help resolve any barriers that may be impacting the care they provide.”
