     story by Victoria Snyder
Society often tells people that their purpose is to get married, have children, make lots of money, and/or raise their status in society. But not everybody finds fulfillment in these activities. You don’t have to get married, have children, be rich, or climb the social ladder to feel content with your life.
Your purpose is what encourages you through the hard times. It’s your reason for going on each day. It gives you a sense of direction in life. Your purpose may be helping others in any variety of ways; rescuing animals; or reviewing books, movies, and TV shows and helping introduce them to those who may enjoy them. Your purpose can be a hobby, or volunteering, or it may mean making a career change. It might even be helping others find and live their purpose!
Living with purpose means following your heart, values, and beliefs. Being your true self. When you have a purpose in life, you recognize what living your best life truly feels like. You’re intentional in your actions.
It’s what makes you feel alive. You may be living in your comfort zone and taking the first step to pursuing your purpose may be scary. But challenging yourself to live purposefully will be worth it for both your physical and mental wellbeing.
There’s no right or wrong way to live your life, because everybody is different. Following your purpose might not make sense to everybody, and that’s okay. Believe in yourself and what’s right for you – that’s how living on purpose starts. You know yourself best and you have to have confidence that you’ll make the right decisions for you. This is your life. You get to decide how you want to live it.
