cobbler, bread pudding, chocolate cream pie and more await. There is also serve-it-yourself ice cream, and the funnel cakes, which can be topped with such treats as powdered sugar, fruit and sprinkles.
It was while at the pasta station that we met Lonnie C. of Waveland, who was getting a pasta dish made using shrimp he peeled and vegetables he gathered from the salad bar. A Jubilee Buffet regular, Lonnie said
everything is fresh all the time and
always good. As he waited for his
pasta dish to be plated, he shared
the No. 1 reason he returns so
often to the buffet is he finds the
workers to be the best.
We noted, as well, that the
casual restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere where guests are
greeted and served by friendly
staff. At the table, empty glasses are
refilled and dirty dishes are quickly
cleared away. The servers in the food line are helpful, answering questions on ingredients and taking the time to make sure guests get exactly what they want.
The Jubilee Buffet is open daily for lunch and dinner, with a Champagne brunch served on Saturday and Sunday. The all-you-can- eat crab and shrimp is available every night starting at 4 p.m. and all day on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 11 a.m., for $49.95. Lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for $14.95.
Dinner items at Silver Slipper’s Jubilee Buffet (clockwise from top): Made-to- order pasta; Southern favorites, including shrimp Creole and carrot souffle; salad selections; pizza; and a freshly made funnel cake loaded with toppings.
